Measurements

The Measurements tool allows you to measure distances and areas directly on the map. Use it to verify separations between features, check dimensions, or measure areas of interest without creating permanent features.

Prerequisites​

  • You must have an open project

How to measure a distance​

  1. Open the measurements sidebar from the map toolbar
  2. Click on the map to set the starting point
  3. Click additional points to measure along a path
  4. The total distance is displayed as you add points
  5. Double-click to finish measuring

How to measure an area​

  1. Open the measurements sidebar
  2. Select the area measurement mode
  3. Click on the map to define the polygon vertices
  4. The area is calculated and displayed as you draw
  5. Double-click to close the polygon and finalize the measurement
note

Measurements are temporary and are not saved as part of the project. They are cleared when you close the measurements tool or navigate away.
