Updates

This page tracks what changed from one Siter release to the next: features that are new, features that work differently, and articles in this guide that were corrected or made clearer. The most recent release is listed first.

v0.33 — October 2026​

Siter v0.33 (which also folds in v0.32.1) drafts the DCMA ESSP transmittal letter as a LaTeX file filled from the project and its analysis, with new Installation Description, Submittal Contact, and Facility Narrative fields to feed it. Google Earth KML and KMZ files import as map layers, folder by folder. The Analysis Results Show list gains Closest Exposures, and Data Validation gains a Single-Part Shape Fixer. v0.32.1 updated the analysis engine: DESR 2024 BLAHA vehicle and storage criteria, NATO AASTP-5 field distances, and several criteria fixes. Build Relationships and spatial-only runs now mark their facilities as needing analysis, and clearing analysis is all-or-nothing. The Swagger API page is now off by default. No pages moved or were renamed.

New Features​

  • Transmittal letter export (alpha) — Export Transmittal Letter downloads a DCMA ESSP transmittal letter as a LaTeX (.tex) draft for one or more DCMA PESs. Run it from the map Popups menu, a DCMA PES's Export Tools menu, or the Feature List bulk menu (Export Transmittal Letter (N)). The letter fills in the project's organization, installation, installation description and submittal contact, each PES group's facility narratives, NEW and governing distances, the nearest exposures with their direction, the exposed sites, and the standard paragraphs. Each term is spelled out once with its acronym, and boxed USER UPDATE markers show what is left to complete. Projects gain Installation Description and Submittal Contact (name, title, phone, email, mailing address) fields, and the facility Notes tab gains a Facility Narrative. Covered in the new Transmittal letters article, plus Submittal forms (linked under Updated Articles; it notes the Facility Narrative doesn't print on forms), Features (Notes tab, and the bulk menu, which now also lists the missing Move to Layer…), Projects, Project Management page (the Edit Project dialog; its drag-and-drop note also lists KML/KMZ among layer formats), and the lessons Forms and Creating a project.
  • KML and KMZ layer import — import Google Earth KML and KMZ files as map layers from Import Layer or by dropping the file on the map. The Layer list in the import header picks All folders, one top-level folder, or Not in a folder, each with its feature count; import once per folder to get one layer each. Placemark names, descriptions, and extended data become attribute columns; styles, image overlays, and network links are not imported. Covered in Layers and the lessons Importing layers (which no longer says KML must be converted first) and AutoCAD.
  • Closest Exposures — a Show option on the Calculations tab, in Analysis Results and Result Sets, listing one row per PES, criteria, and exposure type with the closest actual distance, ordered IBD through NONE. A Result Set saved before actual distances were recorded explains why it can't use the view instead of showing no results. Covered in Running an analysis (which also corrects the Show step: it lists all ten views and opens on Required Distances), Result Sets, and the Project analysis results lesson (which corrects its default view to Required Distances).
  • Single-Part Shape Fixer — a second Data Validation tool. Scan Shapes finds facilities whose shape was imported as a multi-part shape with only one part, which can't have a front selected, and Convert Selected converts them to a plain shape with the same outline and holes. Shapes with two or more parts are counted and left alone, converted facilities need analysis, and a shape the server refuses stays listed as Could not convert. Covered in Data validation, Feature shapes, and the Data validation lesson. Both Data validation pages also now document that the Explosive Scrubber flags explosives whose type isn't defined in their criteria, with a Problem column (previously undocumented).
  • DESR 2024 BLAHA and NATO field distances (v0.32.1) — DESR 2024 adds a BLAHA Vehicle / Storage facility (V4.E5.24) with vehicle type, hatches/ramps closed, and munitions contained questions. BLAHA PESs use Table V4.E5.T12 distances D1–D6, and a Uses HESCOs question applies the BLAHA Storage Criteria flat distances to Non-Armored cells. NATO C v1 adds AASTP-5 field distances for deployed and field storage: 12 FD facility types and 7 attributes. The DESR 2024 criteria set is now DESR 6055.09, Edition 1, Change 2. Covered in the new Submittals overview (linked under Updated Articles), whose standards table names the new DESR edition.

Updated Features​

  • Layer Import — a progress bar shows while a file is read, long attribute values stay on one line in the preview with the full text in a tooltip, and point facilities such as KML placemarks show on the map as a dot in the layer's line color with the label above, selectable with Identify / Select. Covered in Layers and Feature shapes (both linked above), which now has a Point facilities section.
  • Build Relationships and spatial-only analysis — these runs remove the full results of the facilities they re-run, and now mark those facilities as needing analysis instead of leaving them showing as analyzed. After an analysis is cancelled or fails, the map and Feature List update without a reload. Covered in Running an analysis (linked above), Relationship Groups, and the Relationship groups lesson.
  • Clear Analysis — a clear is all-or-nothing, so a failure partway leaves every result in place, and clearing on large projects no longer times out. Only users with Project Edit Permission can cancel an analysis, now enforced by the server too. Covered in Running an analysis (linked above).
  • Criteria fixes (v0.32.1) — DQ translates PES and ES analysis codes as QD does, so some HD 1.2.3 DQ values change (re-run analysis on affected relationships). The NATO C v1 aboveground magazine to vital unprotected POL debris distances are no longer swapped. Explosive weights that aren't a valid number are rejected with error 211 instead of being treated as zero. Analysis flowcharts resolve re-route codes correctly. Not covered in a specific article.
  • Swagger API page and request log (admin) — the Swagger API page is off unless EnableSwagger is true, and Admin > Application Settings shows whether it is on. echoRequests is off by default and logs route templates instead of request paths. Admin > Projects lists active projects by default; Include Inactive Projects adds archived ones with a status. Admin > Users shows Active or Inactive when inactive accounts are included. Covered in Deploying a Siter environment, whose new v0.33 upgrade notes say to move health checks from /swagger to /api/health/status.

Updated Articles​

Sections of the Submittals page moved to new pages. If you bookmarked a section of Submittals, such as ATF forms or Sides not analyzed, that bookmark may no longer reach it — use the sidebar or search. The Submittals page itself keeps its address.

  • Submittals is now a section with four pages. Submittals is a new overview of the submittal package — transmittal letter, forms, and drawings — with the supported-standards table and a table of which project and facility fields feed each part. The form content moved to Submittal forms (features/submittals/submittal-forms). The notices, N/A values, and Sides not analyzed sections moved to a new Incomplete and out-of-date forms page. Transmittal letters sits in the same section.
  • How-to guides overview — nests the Submittals pages, including the new Transmittal letters article, and updates the Layers and Data validation lines.
  • Map view — the toolbar table and menus name each button by its tooltip with its icon. The Popups menu (previously called the Workspace menu) now lists All Relationships and Export Transmittal Letter, and the Add/Edit menu (previously the 9-dot menu) lists New Layout.
  • Map toolbar button names — every step that clicks a map toolbar button now shows the button's icon beside its tooltip name: Popups, Identify / Select, Undo/Redo Edit, Add/Edit, and Analysis, replacing "Workspace menu", "9-dot menu", "apps", "label menu", and "Calculate button". Changed in the articles above and in Bulk editing, Layouts, Path facilities, All relationships, To-do list, and the lessons Copy and move facilities, Facility fronts, Facility labels, Map features list, Adding features, Editing features, Moving features, Analysis symbols, Violations with related facilities, Mitigating violations, and To-do list. The lessons Desktop license and edit permissions and Requesting online access also now confirm edit permission by the Add/Edit and Undo/Redo Edit buttons instead of the Calculate button, which users with only read access have had since v0.32.
  • Feature shapes (linked above) — the custom segments Alpha note now asks you to check analysis results and submittal forms for facilities that use custom segments.
  • Drawings lesson — its links to the Result Sets and drawings article now reach the right sections (they pointed at headings that no longer exist).

v0.32 — October 2026​

Siter v0.32 adds layouts: place a grid of facilities, a template cluster, a BLAHA, or a road in one step, then reopen and change it from the new Layouts sidebar. Paths from v0.31 are now path layouts. Automatic label placement moves facility labels away from each other instead of letting them overlap, and is switched on for every existing project. Move to Layer moves selected facilities to another layer in one step. Users with Project Read Permission can now run an analysis and import projects. Several fixes stop an analysis or a rename from overwriting other users' work: only one analysis can run per project at a time, and saving project details no longer reverts a rename made elsewhere. Unexpected server errors now show a reference code instead of internal details. No pages moved or were renamed.

New Features​

  • Layouts — New Layout places facilities in one step as a Grid (a prototype tiled in rows and columns), a Template (a cluster placed once), a BLAHA (barricaded cells in rows with their barricades, generated from dimensions), or a Path. Each layout has a Layout name, and facility names can include {Layout}; a name in square brackets is numbered ([Pad] gives Pad 001, Pad 002). The Layouts sidebar lists saved layouts, reopens them for editing (also from a facility's Options > Edit Layout), and deletes a layout without deleting its facilities. One undo restores a layout save. A single save is capped at 250 facilities. Covered in the new Layouts article, plus Features, Map view (the Layouts sidebar and Add/Edit > New Layout), and the Adding features lesson.
  • Automatic label placement — when a facility label would overlap another label, it moves to free space around its facility, with a dashed leader line when it moves clearly off. Labels are never hidden, a label no longer covers a small neighbouring facility, and labels that move in a dense area fan out so their leader lines rarely cross. It replaces the Declutter setting and is on by default, including for existing projects, layer label overrides, and Feature Labels preferences; turn it off in any of those places. The facility Shape tab shows the label's status: Custom, Default, Auto-moved, or Crowded. Covered in Feature labels, Preferences, Feature shapes (which also corrects how to set a label position: click to place, no dragging), and the Facility labels lesson.
  • Move to Layer — the Feature List bulk actions menu has Move to Layer…, which moves every selected facility to the chosen layer. It warns when facilities move between facility and background layers, rebuilds faces for facilities moved onto a facility layer, and one undo puts every facility back. Covered in Bulk editing and the lessons Map features list, Feature editing (which also adds the missing Site HD to DQ…), and Copy and move facilities.

Updated Features​

  • Path facilities — paths are now drawn and edited as path layouts from New Layout or the Layouts sidebar, instead of in the facility editor. A path can be pasted as a projected or geographic LINESTRING, and the sketch turns red when it overlaps another facility. Existing paths were converted to path layouts named after the facility. A path now analyzes like any polygon, so it can take a front and custom segments. Bulk Edit Fronts no longer shows N/A (path). DXF export no longer writes the _CL centerline layer, GeoJSON no longer carries pathCenterline and pathWidth, and a merge doesn't copy a facility's layout membership.   • Facility labels — labels always draw above every facility shape, a multi-part facility shows one label, a label wider than its polygon is shown (the Overflow checkbox is removed), and a custom label shows on a layer with no label template. Small labels print at least 2.5 mm (about 7 pt) on drawings. Label templates are limited to 300 characters and font names to 100. Covered in Feature labels, Bulk editing, and Facility labels (linked above), and the Organizing layers lesson.
  • Running an analysis — users with Project Read Permission, including read-only licenses, can run an analysis from the Analysis menu, the Analysis Results panel, and a feature's dashboard; any run replaces the stored results. Clear Analysis, Cancel Analysis, Build Relationships, and spatial-only analysis still need Project Edit Permission. The Analysis menu shows Analyzing n / m during a run. Only one analysis can be queued or running per project, and analysis can't start while relationships are being built. Covered in Running an analysis, Map view (linked above), Sharing, and the lessons Sharing and Violations with related facilities.
  • Importing projects — users with Project Read Permission, including read-only licenses, can import snapshots and archives. The import/export button is labelled for what its menu holds. A project whose hosted imagery background isn't available on the server now imports or copies without a background and with a warning, and archive import lists it as Imported with warnings. Covered in Projects, Project Management page, Custom and hosted imagery, and the lessons Export and import, Importing a project, and Copy.
  • Update Project — the dialog rejects a blank Project Name, limits the name, installation, location, and organization to 255 characters, and saves only the fields you changed, so a rename made elsewhere is kept. Undo and redo restore only the details that edit changed. Covered in Projects (linked above), under How to edit project details.
  • Compare and merge to-dos — to-dos merged through several projects in a row now show as Updated instead of being added again. Covered in Comparing and merging projects, which also drops the Path row.
  • Server error messages — an unexpected server error shows a reference code to quote instead of internal details, and the full error goes to the server log. Covered in the FAQ.
  • Duplicate project memberships (admin) — the upgrade removes duplicate membership rows so removing a member always removes their access. Save the review query's output before upgrading. Covered in Deploying a Siter environment (linked under Updated Articles), whose new v0.32 upgrade notes also note that the upgrade switches on automatic label placement and converts paths.

Updated Articles​

  • Deploying a Siter environment — explains choosing HTTP or HTTPS: the Siter containers serve plain HTTP only, so HTTPS needs a reverse proxy, and Microsoft and Google sign-in need HTTPS. The base compose file is now the HTTP (DNS-only) layout, with a new section on adding HTTPS with a reverse proxy (nginx and Caddy examples). It also fixes host_url, which pointed https at the API's plain-HTTP port.
  • How-to guides overview — links the new Layouts article under Features.

v0.31 — October 2026​

Siter v0.31 (which also folds in the v0.30.2 fixes) adds path facilities: roads and similar facilities drawn as a centerline with a width. Custom faces now replace the default face for their side in analysis and on submittal forms, the Segments tab shows which faces are analyzed, and Regenerate Faces rebuilds default faces from the criteria. Submittal forms flag out-of-date analysis and unanalyzed sides. Other additions: Site HD to DQ for setting explosive weights from DQ results, kept analysis arcs that stay on the map after Analysis Results closes, and drag-and-drop import of layers and projects. Edits that cannot change results, such as notes, names, and label text, no longer mark a facility as needing analysis. Server-side permission checks were tightened: clearing results, reordering layers, undoable edits, and to-do changes now require Project Edit Permission. Several undo operations no longer mark unrelated facilities as needing analysis. No pages moved or were renamed.

New Features​

  • Path facilities — draw a facility such as a road as a centerline with a set width using Digitize New > Path or Known Position > Path from WKT (Projected), on projects whose map projection is in meters. Siter builds the polygon with square ends and rounded bends, keeps loop infields as holes, and rebuilds it when you change the Width or use Edit Path. Convert to polygon turns a path back into an ordinary facility. Paths have no front and no custom segments; each criteria gets one perimeter face. A path survives moves, rotation, copy and paste, merging, GeoJSON export and re-import, and DXF export, where the centerline goes on a <layer>_CL layer with its width attached.     • Feature shapes, which also lists the Reshape submenu, says Reset Front clears the front, and notes that Shape Details appear only in view mode
    • DXF export
    • Layers, on importing roads, which also corrects the Import menu path to Add/Edit > Import > Layer
    • Comparing and merging projects, on the new Path row merged together with Shape
    • Lessons: Adding features, which drops an inaccurate claim that the shape editor filters geometries by type code; Editing features; AutoCAD; GeoJSON, which also corrects its round-trip claims: layer import restores geometry, name, and path, not type codes, attributes, explosives, or relationships; and Compare and merge.
  • Analyze column — when a facility has a custom face or an override, the facility editor's Segments tab shows which faces are analyzed. Each face can be set to always or never be analyzed, and the button beside it returns it to automatic. Row hints say which face replaces which side. A side with no analyzed face is flagged Not analyzed — no face covers this side. Covered in Feature shapes (linked above) and Features.
  • Regenerate Faces — rebuild default faces from the criteria while keeping custom faces and their settings. Use it for every facility from the Analysis menu, then optionally Analyze Project, or for one facility from its Segments tab, then save. Covered in Running an analysis, Map view, and Feature shapes (linked above).
  • Analysis out of date notice and Sides not analyzed — submittal forms show an Analysis out of date notice when a facility's faces or search zones changed after the analysis. That includes an edit to a PES whose search zone reaches the sited facility. Forms also print a Sides not analyzed row for any side, of the facility or a partner, that has no analyzed face. Either way, the printed footer starts with INCOMPLETE. Older facilities whose default faces don't match their criteria's sides are fixed with Regenerate Faces. Covered in Submittals and the Forms lesson.
  • Kept analysis arcs — the pin toggle in the Analysis Results toolbar keeps the selected arcs on the map after you close it, and reopening Analysis Results brings back the same selection. A Kept analysis arcs entry at the top of the Feature Layers sidebar has a count, an eye toggle, a clear button, and a link that reopens Analysis Results. While arcs are kept, the Workspace menu has Clear Kept Analysis Arcs. A new Map Behavior preference sets whether the pin starts on. Covered in Running an analysis, Preferences, Result Sets, and the Project analysis results lesson, which also replaces an outdated "click Calculate" with Analyze Project.
  • Site HD to DQ — set a facility's explosive weights for the hazard divisions you choose to the most restrictive DQ from the analysis. Run it from the Update Facility Explosives tab, or for several facilities from the Feature List bulk menu. An HD is skipped and listed rather than set from a partial set of exposures. Covered in Feature explosives data, which also corrects "How to enter explosives quantities": editing happens in Update Facility, and the dashboard tab is read-only. Also covered in the DQ analysis and Map features list lessons.
  • Last Analysis-Relevant Edit column — the Feature List's Analysis Timestamps columns show when a facility last had an edit that can change results, next to Last Edited. Last Analyzed, Last Edited, and the new column now sort. Covered in Features (linked above).
  • Drag-and-drop import — drop a GeoJSON or zipped shapefile onto the map to open Import Layer with it. Drop a Siter archive or snapshot onto Project Management to import it; files the browser renamed on download, such as project.siter-snapshot (1).json, are accepted. Covered in Layers (linked above), Project Management page, and the lessons Importing layers, Shapefiles (which fills in its "Running the import" section), Importing a project, and Export and import.

Updated Features​

  • Custom segments — a custom face now replaces the default face for its Analyze As side, in analysis and on submittal forms. On a perimeter facility a custom segment is carved out of the default perimeter, which is analyzed as the rest of the outline. Custom points add an analysis point and replace nothing. The analysis engine now receives the chosen side rather than the face name. Custom segments are marked Alpha. Changing a facility's category to one with different sides resets the default faces' analyze choice and barricade flag. Covered in Feature shapes and Editing features (linked above).

  • Default face names — default faces are named after the criteria's sides, for example Perimeter in DCMA and DESR 2024. NATO AGMRCWR faces are now door and other (were front and rear), use the 45° door angle, and get the AGMRCD code. Existing door facilities are converted on upgrade. Others are renamed the first time they are saved. Covered in the Segments and sides lesson, which also corrects its side table: DOOR applies to NATO AGMRCWR only.

  • Facilities with holes — spatial analysis measures to the nearest edge, including the edges of holes, and a boundary (BND) face includes every hole's edges. Facilities saved earlier pick this up when their faces are next rebuilt. Covered in Feature shapes (linked above).

  • Select Front and Bulk Edit Fronts — Select Front saves the face you click. Before, it could save a different face on outlines stored counter-clockwise. On those facilities the highlighted front in Bulk Edit Fronts may now appear on a different side, because it now shows the stored front that analysis uses. Bulk Edit Fronts skips path facilities and shows N/A (path). Covered in Bulk editing, whose fronts section is also corrected (Feature Source, keyboard stepping, no Reset button), and the Facility fronts lesson.

  • Analysis Required — editing only a facility's name, description, notes, submittal notes, label, or style, a category's notes or justification, an explosive's display name, or a relationship note no longer marks the analysis as needing a re-run. Covered in Running an analysis (linked above; new section Which edits mark analysis as needed) and the Violations lesson.

  • Analysis menu and results — Analyze Project stands out in the Analysis menu. Clear Analysis requires Project Edit Permission. Save Arcs as Default reads Saving arcs… until the save finishes. Covered in Running an analysis and Map view (linked above).

  • Feature Selector — the feature picker opened from a feature column's filter (PES/ES on Analysis Results and All Relationships, Other Facility on a facility's relationships) shows a type-code column for each project criteria and hides background-layer features. Covered in Running an analysis (linked above), Feature relationships, and All relationships.

  • Submittal form faces and PES form listings — forms label a custom face "name (side)", for example Loading Dock (front), and a trimmed default perimeter Perimeter (remainder). Rows are matched to the analysis by face, and the reverse values come from the row's own pair of faces. A pair with no reverse result prints N/A instead of 0. The NATO ES form no longer swaps Subject ES Face and Reverse PES Face. From v0.30.2, PES forms:

    • list every facility in violation with the sited facility, in either direction
    • list every PES whose IBD arc reaches the sited facility
    • compute the 110% IBD zone correctly for metric criteria
    • print No Analysis instead of 0 where a pair has no forward analysis
    • mark a facility (violation) when any of its rows violates

  • Barricaded (Segments) — from v0.30.2, forms print Barricaded when either face of a pair is barricaded on its Segments tab, unless a per-pair Yes/No overrides it. In the relationship editors, the column filter, and the CSV export, a pair with no override now shows Segments instead of a blank. Covered in Feature relationships and All relationships (linked above), and the Barricading and Individual facility editing lessons. Both lessons also correct an earlier claim that a per-pair barricade is marked as a user override.

  • Bulk Edit: Facility Labels — every pending label change shows on the map before you save. Closing with Don't Save puts the saved labels back. Edits made while a save is running are kept. The marker reads LABEL POSITION when the map won't draw a label, and Back restores the selected facility. Covered in Bulk editing (linked above) and the Facility labels lesson, which also corrects its description of the tool.

  • Copy Facilities and bulk-edit sorting — the copy list shows plain facility names instead of an edit box that renamed the original without saving. Name, status, and category columns on bulk-edit screens sort naturally ("Bldg 2" before "Bldg 10") and ignore case. Covered in Bulk editing (linked above) and the Copy and move facilities lesson.

  • Removing explosives — removing an explosive no longer fails when a placement analysis has results for it, and that placement analysis is marked out of date. Covered in Feature explosives data (linked above) and Placement analysis.

  • Layer import errors and warnings — features with errors and warnings get distinct icons, and the header counts the features that will import with warnings. Changing a Default Feature Type after loading a file rebuilds each feature's errors and warnings. .json files are read even when the browser reports another content type. Covered in Layers (linked above).

  • Export projects and table sorting — the Export projects dialog is wider, and its columns can be sorted and filtered. Sortable table headers across Siter now show an arrow for the current sort direction. Covered in Projects.

  • To-Do list permissions — adding, editing, and deleting to-dos requires Project Edit Permission and an editor seat; everyone else sees the list read-only. Deleting a facility keeps other projects' to-dos as unlinked. A to-do whose facility isn't in a copied or imported project comes in unlinked. The CSV export keeps the facility name of unlinked to-dos. Covered in To-do list and the To-do list lesson.

Updated Articles​

v0.30 — September 2026​

Siter v0.30 adds per-user Preferences that follow you between devices: where you land after signing in, the units you type distances in, how a map opens, snap tolerance, and the defaults every new project starts with, including a My Custom Style for analysis symbols and default feature labels. Facilities gain a separate internal Notes field alongside the printed Facility Description and Submittal Notes. Relationships gain relationship submittal notes, one per PES → ES direction, which print on every submittal form, and an In Violation column. Markup is drawn with a readable halo and uses the same eye toggle as the other map lists. Administrators should read the new upgrade notes before upgrading: the Facility Description moves to its own database field. No pages moved or were renamed.

New Features​

  • Preferences — a Preferences tab on My Dashboard, stored with your account so it follows you to any browser or device. General sets your Landing Page. Map Behavior sets Working Units, Default Sidebar, Footbar Dock, and Snap Tolerance. New Project Defaults, Analysis Symbols, and Feature Labels set what every project you create from then on starts with. The Project Management page also remembers its grouping, sort, and Show Archived setting. Covered in Preferences, Map view (default sidebar and footbar dock), Digitizer (snap tolerance; the Length Constraint unit follows Working Units), Project Management page, and the Creating a project and Requesting online access lessons. The Projects article (linked under Project file format versions below) notes that the New Project form now starts from your defaults, and that its map preview shows the selected background, including basemaps that need an API key.
  • My Custom Style — save the analysis symbols you're looking at with Save as My Custom Style in a project's Analysis Symbols sidebar (under Styling), or edit the style on the Preferences tab. Start From… there adds Style By Exposure and Criteria, which lists every criteria Siter knows. Covered in Analysis symbology and the Analysis symbols lesson.
  • Default feature labels — set a label template and text style once on the Preferences tab, and new projects start with labels on. The token list adds {description} (the printed Facility Description), and {notes} now shows the internal Notes; the upgrade changes project and layer templates that used {notes} to {description}, but not per-feature Label Text overrides or Preferences defaults, so if a label comes out blank or wrong, replace {notes} with {description}. Covered in Feature labels and the Facility labels lesson.
  • Internal Notes field — the facility Notes tab now has three fields: Facility Description and Submittal Notes, which print on submittal forms, and Notes, which never prints. Each field has a hint saying whether it prints. The Feature List's Notes & Description column set shows and sorts all three. Bulk Edit - Notes edits all three together. Copied facilities carry the Facility Description. Layer exports carry description, submittalNotes, and notes. DXF XDATA writes the description under description= (formerly notes=). Compare / Merge lists and merges each field separately. Covered in Features, Bulk editing, Layers (which also corrects a duplicated FACILITYNUMBER in the WebESS field list), DXF export, Comparing and merging projects (also its new Relationship Notes section), and the Editing features, Map features list, AutoCAD, and Compare and merge lessons.
  • Relationship submittal notes — a free-text note, up to 2,000 characters, on each direction of a PES → ES pair. Notes are not criteria-specific: one note per direction prints on the pair's forms for every standard, so a mitigation note should name the criteria it applies to. It is edited from a new Note column on the facility Relationships tab (with Copy to Selected and Clear Selected) and on the All Relationships dash, and from a Note button in the analysis results table. The Analysis Results Options menu adds Add Relationship Note and Clear Relationship Notes for many results at once. Notes print on every submittal form under the pair's row, as PES->ES Note / PES<-ES (Reverse) Note on PES forms and ES<-PES (Reverse) Note on ES forms. Build Relationships and Reset All Relationships leave notes in place.   • In Violation column — the facility Relationships tab and the Edit Feature Relationships dialog show Yes when any criteria is in violation between the pair, with the criteria named per direction in the tooltip. It sorts, filters, and exports to CSV. Covered in Feature relationships (linked above).
  • Markup halo — markup lines and labels are drawn with a white halo so they stay readable over imagery. Line Halo and Text Outline colors and widths (0–20 px) are editable in the markup symbol editors. The editors are grouped under Line / Fill / Text headings and have keyboard-operable color pickers. The Markup sidebar's Show on Map checkbox is now the same eye button the other map lists use, saved with the project for users with Project Edit Permission and for the session only for users with Project Read Permission. Adding markup turns it back on. Covered in Measurements, which also adds a section on the default markup symbols and corrects the gear menu and Discard Changes descriptions, and the Markup lesson.
  • Desktop installer signing (admin) — the Windows installer and the executables it installs are code-signed as The Schreifer Group, LLC. The article covers what users see in SmartScreen, how to verify the signature, and allow-list options for IT. Covered in Desktop Installer Signing and SmartScreen.

  • My Dashboard — now has only Details and Preferences tabs. My Projects and Project Requests are on the Project Management page. Covered in My Dashboard, which replaces a placeholder page.
  • Analysis results navigation — PES and ES facility names in the analysis results table link to the facility's dashboard, and Back returns to the panel or tab you came from. Choosing which arcs show on a facility's Calculations tab no longer marks the facility as having unsaved changes (use Arc Tools > Save Arcs as Default to keep a selection). Covered in Running an analysis (linked above).
  • PES and ES under different criteria — a facility that is a PES under one criteria set and an ES under another is no longer analyzed as a PES for the ES criteria. If it still has explosives sited under that criteria, analysis records an error. Placement analysis refuses a run that can't produce results. Relationships already recorded on the wrong side must be cleared by hand. Covered in Placement analysis, with troubleshooting entries in Running an analysis and Feature relationships (linked above).
  • Project file format versions — archives are now format 2, and snapshots carry a schema version. Older files import with the description moved into its new field, and a file from a newer Siter is refused with a message. A v0.30 snapshot imported into an older Siter loses its Facility Descriptions. Covered in Projects (new "Moving projects between Siter versions" section; the article also corrects the attribute-defaults option name to Conservative).
  • Upgrading and first sign-in (admin) — new Upgrading an Existing Environment section: back up first, pull, up -d, and hard-refresh open tabs. Its v0.30 notes cover the Facility Description migration, why every open tab must be refreshed, and file-format compatibility. Also a First Sign-In section for creating the first administrator, which was previously undocumented: a temporary seed account with no-auth sign-in, Request Access registration, approval under Admin > Registrations, and retiring the seed account. Editing controls now follow live permission and license checks without a re-login, and the web UI is a single deployment-agnostic image configured at runtime through a mounted env.js. Shift+click opens a facility straight in the editor.
  • Projects — projects have a new Organization field on the create and edit forms and the project dashboard's Details tab.
